I hear you so clearly. The two things are very different, but they each come with their own unique brand of joy. As anyone who writes and performs knows: too much solitude and you’re suffering from isolation. Too much time onstage and you’ve got too little time for the self-reflection required to create new work. Sherman, you’re a monster onstage — AND at the desk!

I love the solitude of being the writer writing and I desperately miss being the onstage performer performing.
