I agree. I have often thought that there is a dilemma in current education, where students engage in fun easy activities and miss the joy of satisfaction in the achievement of something hard.
I remember my first experience of joy. It was when my husband-to-be decided to move in with me. I felt this liquid light going through me, streaming to every part of my being. It truly feels different from fun or even ecstasy.
