Hi, Sorry (regarding your comment below) just saw this.
yes, it's quite similar to Appendix A in our book on yoga psychology. It's along the lines of what I've been suggesting to you for awhile about an experiential approach complementing your also-excellent integration of quantitative and phenomenological-Goethean "higher mind" Aurobindonian approaches.
I have to apologize since nobody else here is going to know what we're talking about. Folks, Dr. Masi has written what I consider the single best book on spirituality and science of at least the past 30 years - "Spirit Calls Nature."
Thank you for the kind words (it's easy when you have wonderful readers...;)...)
Yes, Appendix A could be a good introduction to my future book that will make a synthesis on the basis of the papers published. It would relax a bit the quite heavy theoretical load, and invite people to see that it's not mere philosophical speculation but relies on an approach that, after all, is not so dissimilar from the scientific investigation. I hope you will write something on the line of Appendix A here on Substack. Then I will copy and paste it in my book (obviously without permission. ;) )
(For folks not in on the 'joke," when I read Marco's wonderful book, I was surprised and delighted to see he had taken a lengthy quote from an online essay I wrote. He gave me attribution but did not ask permission beforehand - which, of course, I was perfectly fine with.
What do you think, Marco? Do you think any of our two dozen or so readers would have cared:>))))
Uh? What? Of course I asked you for permission! Will have to dig out the email, if you don't believe me. But I knew it was only a formality. ;)
Actually I'm stuck with finding some journal or a book where to publish my last two articles, but once this is over, I really would like you to write a chapter on the practical aspect!
Interesting introduction to Don Salmon's "Effortless Sleep Course," by Don Salmon himself. A great series of videos, instructions and with guided and unguided relaxation and breathing music, that I recently went through and can only wholeheartedly recommend!
Here Don reveals his true spiritual/philosophical commitment. But beware... if you take his course, you will experience his scientific side. If I wouldn't know him, I would have said that he is a diehard physicalist. ;))
"Diehard physicalist" - one of the best compliments I've gotten in awhile! And I'm always concerned people will think what Jan and I teach is too "woo," "wellness quackery," etc.
And thanks for the compliment on the course - it's easy when you have wonderful students:>))
Thank you Adam, for posting this. I look forward to hearing reflections, questions, criticisms, etc from others
Interesting approach to science and spirituality.
So, so... is this the scientific approach you were suggesting for my book? :))

Sorry, I'm giving you my permission, so now you won't be able to steal it!

But you seem not to be willing to answer my questions on the practical approach? 😕
