I didn't know a thing about Philo before reading this, but now very much want to know more! I always felt the doctrine of non-attachment was half right, or right only if it's defined as a golden mean between asceticism and attachment. So this is very appealing and I'll be sure to look him up. Thanks for the great read, David.
